In September, 2024 a partnership was created between Sea Salt and Sage Massage and the Beth Wright Cancer Resource Center, to bring bodywork and energy services to cancer patients, survivors and their families free of charge. The benefits of cancer patients and their caregivers receiving massage and energy work are limitless, but can include decrease in pain and inflammation, increase in immune response, increase blood and fluid circulation, and decreased anxiety and depression to name several.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

In November, 2024 I trained and received certification in Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapy through the Klose Training Lymphedema Certification. MLD is a very slow, gentle technique used to help the lymphatic system when clients have lymphedema and edema. Lymphedema is a chronic lymphatic disease that results in disfiguring swelling in one or more parts of the body. This can occur when lymph nodes are removed or damaged during cancer treatment and surgery. Lymph nodes are vital in processing protein in the fluid in the body, and help regulate the immune system. Manual lymphatic drainage therapy helps move built up fluid in extremities and other parts of the body, and remove toxins from the fluid among other benefits.
